Phyllis Ginger

Town centre (Bristol) 1947
  Lithograph SP 7
£165  mounted

Phyllis Ginger was one of the artists recruited to the Recording Britain scheme during the Second World War.
Town Centre is based on her studies of Bristol town centre before it was heavily bombed.

This a school  lithograph print, published in the 1940s, when artists were commissioned to create original hand-drawn colour lithographs printed by the specialist lithographic printers, The Baynard Press. These were then distributed to schools so children could enjoy art at first hand.
