Allin Braund was born in Devon. He won a scholarship to study art at Hornsey College of Art. He had a distinguished career as both artist and teacher, inspiring his students, such as Allen Jones. His lithographs were shown in the 1954 British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale alongside those of Henry Moore and Eduardo Paolozzi. His greatest influence was the work of George Braque. He went on to have many exhibitions here and abroad and his work was purchased for many collections including the V + A Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
